NEWS FLASH:

I PASSED MY DRIVING TEST YESTERDAY!!! This is a momentos occasion as the UK driving test is THE hardest in the world.....! Let me tell you, I wasn't half nervous! I had a wonderful driving instructor who taught me well. The man who gave me the test was very kind and we had a lot to chat about as he had been to San Diego about 10 years ago, was doing up his house and had a similar love story to ours. I think he also figured if I had been driving all these years in the States that I would do well over here too. I was shocked though to hear him say I'd passed as I fully expected the opposite. I grabbed his arm twice in excitement and said I passed?!! Oh I could hug you! And then thought.....maybe not. At any rate, I shed a few tears of happiness with Jane (my instructor) and then headed back to the university to tell Roger the good news. He was waiting with baited breath in a circle of friends in the coffee room and when I walked in and proudly proclaimed the good news, a cheer went up. Hate to think what they've done if I'd failed! Still sporting a massive headache (the test was 45 minutes long and intense) I took it easy in the evening.

Sorry to report after two days the ducks have moved on to further adventures. The cows were sitting down this morning and it has been beautiful today, so that blows that theory.

Until the next episode in my life, see ya!

.....and what kind of mother am I to not report that my son, Kellan, turned 21 on Sunday, April 15th! Yep, my little tax deduction has grown up! :)

Two little ducks!

Roger and I decided long ago that we would name our house "Two Little Ducks". The reason being is that our house number is 22 and whilst (another English word) walking along the seafront a couple years ago, we heard a bingo call-out - not once - but twice - saying "number 22, two little ducks", therefore taking it as a sign. While walking around the broad at work yesterday, I pointed out two ducks, one male and one female. How strange is that? I asked. Upon returning home last night and walking to the door I stopped dead in my tracks.........there, next to our tiny pond, was two little (rather big) ducks - one male and one female!! They had decided to stop for a rest and take advantage of the nice weather we had and to share our megar offerings of bread which they proceded to dunk in the pond. The frogs decided to give way at this point and crawled into a crevice in the rock wall near by. I did spy Jingle in the attack position at one point but was able to grab her in time. They stayed with us until about 9pm and then moved on to greater ponds I guess. What a treat that was!

Other news - I made a trek back to San Diego for a week just to go through items I had still in storage. Again, I'm sorry I didn't call people as this was just a time to focus and get through it all. Very emotional trip as I had to part with items that were probably not much of anything, but something to me. You know how that goes. I visited with Kellan and enjoyed the SD sunshine.

I was back to work for 2 days before our Easter break of a week kicked in. Roger and I trained down to London to take care of business at the U.S. Embassy and took a couple more days to see all the sites again. We met with friends for a drink on a boat on the Thames and had dinner following at a fab Indian restaurant. The next day we met my Godmother at a Windsor restaurant for lunch before going back to her beautiful home in Maidenhead to further visit. She was once married to a famous entertainer here and lives in a gorgeous home on the Thames. The 3rd day we walked several miles around the city and enjoyed the fine weather before returning home. Had a nice Easter dinner at ours the next day with finger sandwiches (very twee) and on the Monday Roger turned another year older! And that's about it.

So, until further notice Readers........
