Well hello again,

We find ourselves in November now. We are leaving for Seattle this Saturday so Roger can experience his first Thanksgiving! We will stay with my brother and sister-in-law and visit my Mom too. She is doing better and it is thought she will be able to return to her apt. soon! Kellan will fly up and we possibly will be able to visit with my nephew as well......a right family reunion (minus my neice).

I reflect back on the San Diego wild fires that ocurred last month. What a horrific time those people endured. I remember my experience from 2003 and felt helpless being so far away, watching familiar places ignite in flame. Something fun and positive did come out of it though....a friend of mine, Diane, sent me a photo that her friend's, friend's son, who is a fire fighter, took while battling the flames. The BBC in this part of the world were looking for anyone with information that they could use, so I emailed them the photo. They wrote back saying that they would need the permission of the person who took it, before they could use it. So I emailed Diane back with the message and before you know it, "Tim" (the fire fighter) was being interviewed by the BBC on t.v. and his phone was ringing off the hook with New York and others wanting the same! Can you imagine how crazy the chain of events were - and all from him taking a random photo while doing his job! Here is the BBC link to his interview:

We enjoyed an evening at our neighbor's house to watch the fireworks on Bon Fire night November 3rd. Fireworks are a tradition which tends to get earlier and earlier each year. The pop and bang of the fireworks begins 2 weeks ahead of time and lasts a week or two after......always keeping us alert - and awake!

And that's it for the monthly blab.

Cheerio,

Jill

For all cat lovers out there!
