It's been 3 weeks now since my last post so I'm getting better. The gap is narrowing.

Sidebar: I'd like to especially thank my niece for being my ever-faithful reader!

It's Autumn in "Jolly Old". The trees are starting to turn and it is magnificent! I bet it could rival the east coast. Oddly enough, I met a woman recently who was going to the U.S. East coast to see the trees turn. How strange when it is right in her own back yard. Roger says "It's very Autumnal".

In the last month I've turned 50 (shhhh, remember - only her hairdresser knows for sure), celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary and a year of me being here. In some ways this past year has gone slowly but in others it has flown by.

I thought I'd start off with a recap of the first part of our trip. Waiting at Heathrow airport, I happen to look over my early morning coffee only to see the priest of our church in San Diego walking by!! Now, how wierd is that?! He and his wife had been to Turkey and were returning that day. We managed to meet up with him on the other side of the pond 2 weeks later. I love "cooincidences" like this! On arrival into Las Vegas, our friend Melany from Denver surprised us by meeting us there with a car. Check out the photo of her next to the P.T. cruiser, my source of cash in helping to fund the vacation, the artistic attempt of me with the Beatles and my new friend - in the wax museum, lol. Melany was a great tour guide and we managed a trip to Hoover Dam as well as valet service to all the hotels with her as our chauferre. Here's a great photo of my hubby, too, at the Hoover Dam. We saw the Penn and Teller show, but as we were not allowed to take cameras, this photo of the us by the marqee will have to suffice.

I do have more to share but at this point I'll stop. A birthday lunch for my father-in-law beckons so I will have to thrill you with more on my next blog - Stardate San Francisco. Until then...beam me up, Scotty.

It's been six weeks since my last entry. Since then, I've been back to the States, turned 50 and celebrated my first wedding anniversary, all in that order! I don't know where the time has gone and beg appologies for those of you who so kindly (and generously) have missed my entries. I have photos to post but at the moment, the thought of having heat in the house for the up-coming English winter is taking precedence, and most of our time is spent plastering, sanding and storing nuts so that we may be comfortable in the months to come. I will say that the cows are still standing so good weather is still imminant, tho we have been threatened by a couple rain storms recently. My office moved while I was away (yes, I did know about it previously, it's not like they were trying to hide from me) and I now have a lovely view of cement buildings outside my window. At any rate, I'll attempt to continue writing, as long as you continue reading, tho it may be sporadic for now.

Cheers!

Jill
