Hello again from lovely Britain! My posts are getting fewer but I shall endevour to keep you up to date on my activities....
...One being that I recently began exercising a friend's horses - which is a dream come true for me. She lives in an area called Horningtoft (I love these British names). Two horses - Ellabee and Jolly. I usually ride out with my friend's husband as Annie has had her foot stepped on by Ella and is not riding until it's healed. This past Saturday, Berno (hubby) and I had just turned on to the field when my horse was spooked by a passing rider lawn mower on the other side of the hedge (heard but not seen). Mr. Jolly was definitely not being so jolly as he began bucking up a storm and next thing I knew I was flat on the ground! Suffice to say I am now sporting a bruised pelvis and ribs and shall not be riding for at least a couple weeks. I will say, however, that after we caught the horse I did get back on and rode. So this was a little excitement I could've done without.
In other news we had a 4th of July party on the 5th of July with all the neighbors last weekend. Had a wonderful break in the weather to bbq and we celebrated with little American flags in all the food and USA signage all around. Even the neighbors were impressed - always an excuse for a party! As we have completed our back yard renovation it was nice to be able to enjoy it for such an occasion!
It is congregation (graduatation) time here at the university. It's nice to see the students walking around in their robes beaming. Seems all schools get out here during July. The younger students only get about 6 weeks vacation. Never knew the USA had it so good!
Until lata,
Jill
