Living in Taverham

Had a lovely Christmas! We are on a long break from Uni so won't go back until 2nd Jan., although I may take that week off. My son is visiting from San Diego though it was hit and miss on his arrival while fog was delaying a lot of flights into Heathrow. He took the bus up and arrived at 8:20pm on the 21st December. We promptly fed him with Fish and Chips and he was a happy camper. Since then we have been attending various house parties and he has made several new friends. He claims to like the British lifestyle already - so no telling what the future will hold for him! Christimas was spent at my inlaws - photos to follow shortly. Our weather has been a mixed bag and we are looking forward to ushering 2007 in - hopefully with dryer days!

Here's wishing everyone a happy new year!

.....Here's an interesting thing: the days on the calendar in England start with Monday, whereas in the U.S. they begin with Sunday.

For more fascinating facts stay tuned.

Another beautiful day in Norwich.....albeit cold and rainy, but that's what England is all about this time of year. I must say it is much more festive than I'm used to and the English know how to party! So far we have 5 different parties to attend and the mulled wine is flowing freely! We went to a party this past Saturday held at a co-worker's house. It was a family affair which turned out to be interesting. I immediately became leader of the children's games and I'm now sure the adults are regretting my presence at any future events! After playing "Pass the parcel" and "Musical Chairs", we ventured into more adventurous territory with "Duck, Duck, Goose" and "Statues" amid squeals of excitement (or was it anger?) coming more from drunken adults then children. Suffice to say a good time was had by all and this Yank will be back next year for more.

This month sees the birth of a new remodeling phase in our home: furniture and carpet! Watch this space.

News from my son in California comes that he was in a car accident. Thankfully he was not hurt but my lovely silver honda (which I still thought of as "new" even tho it was purchased in 1998) was totaled. :( However, this paves the way for Kellan's dream of owning a pick up truck now. Again, watch this space.

Today was Roger's department's Christmas party. I post this photo as proof.

Ta-ra everybody!
