Some cows sit. Others stand. Are you tired of hearing about this? It's true tho, they sat - it rained. They stand - it's sunny. Zuess was cracking his whip two nights ago as the thunder ROARED and the lightening flashed. It's like having your photo taken.

Not a lot to report in this past week. The terrorists have had their temper tantrums. Let's pray they find better things to occupy their time with. Like jail.

Our kitchen has improved from the trench in the middle to a solid concrete floor. We are anticipating the electrics to be done and will then move on to plastering the living room walls. The kitchen sink has landed in the middle of the room this week and with the oven still sitting on our plastic picnic table, it remains a marvel at how we can still cook a hot meal. Oh the joys of renovation! Our garden has changed from nothing to something with all the grass green, green, green and the flowers blooming. I love it. I think the frogs will be returning to our pond any day now. Remind me to get the welcome mat out.

After coming home from work sick yesterday wasn't enough, I woke up to the news that British police have uncovered a terrorist plot to blow up American Airlines jets going from the UK to the US. All flights have been cancelled and as we are due to leave in two weeks (and flying AA) to visit back home, this doesn't look good. Watch this spot.

Currently we are having our kitchen floor being done and cannot access it for 24 hours. Considering our bathroom is on that part of the house, I am having to go out the front door, around the house and enter the back door to use it. The neighbors must wonder what is going on seeing me in my bathrobe and slippers going outside every so often. Tonight we are living in the bedroom until the floor is ready. Can you say "Fun"?

That's the news from this side of the pond for now.

NEWS FLASH: I PASSED MY THEORY TEST ON SATURDAY!! One down, one to go - the "practical" (driving) test.

I am getting to be an expert on weather predicting with the cows. Today a few were sitting with just a couple standing. I took it to mean it will be wet (as it was then raining) with clearing in the afternoon. At the moment (at 3pm), the sun is shining. I rest my case.

Busy weekend with dinner (I mean tea) out to a Thai restaurant with a few people from work. Tried a new dish and because the waiter liked me, gave us a free appetizer of tuna and ginger. It's nice to have clout. We all tried Thai beer and sufficiently walked out with a warm glow.

Saturday evening we went to my cousin's daughter's engagement party. It was held in a football club in a village called Blofield. We ate, drank, danced and became merrier by the minute. Lots of families there and I must note that it is a little disconcerting to see 5 year olds running around singing at the top of their lungs "Don't you wish your girlfriend was HOT like me? Don't you wish your girlfriend was a FREAK like me...........don't chu? DON'T CHU?!"

Sunday was "Roger's Day" and we took a picnic to a place called Wroxham and sat along the broads, feeding the birds. You haven't lived until a swan has hissed at you. It's like getting scolded by your mother. Ok, ok, I'll eat my veggies instead of trying to pawn them off on you.
We looked around the shops and in the evening had tea time with friends.

Meanwhile, the house is still in shambles and we find new and creative ways to cook our food each night. This week the sink has moved to another part of the kitchen and I'm getting to be an expert at playing "find the coffee today". The never ending joys of D.I.Y.-ing (do it yourself).

Cows are still sitting down. Yes, it's raining - tons (that's also a word they don't seem to use over here). I never thought I'd be happy for wet weather but it means I don't have to water the yard (ahem' - garden) tonight.

Here's one of my most favorite photos taken at my wedding (what was the first clue...?). My son, Kellan, I miss him so much! He is engaged himself now, to lovely Laura. They plan to wed in 2008 and he couldn't have chosen a better partner. They are perfect together and I''ll be so happy to have her as a daughter-in-law (Wow, do I feel old). I like her parents, too. I wonder......does one become officially "married in-laws" then?

Oh yes, here's a link to the photographer who took our wedding photos website: http://elegantdigital.com/JillRoger.htm - more of our wedding photos (I feel so important). ;)

Roger has this week off and is working on the house. At this moment we have no hot water, no cooker (using camp stove) and the kitchen floor is torn up. He made the comment over the weekend that usually a woman wouldn't put up with this. Is that good or bad? I'll take it as a compliment.

My driving theory (written) test is this weekend. I'm studying like mad (well, not at this moment as I am writing this). As they say, watch this space.

Sad news from one of my Best-estist friends in Denver. He lost his brother recently. I feel such a great loss for him. He truly is a special person in my life and I'm keeping him in my prayers.

I wonder how many people, if any, really read this blog, or am I just rambling to myself? Doesn't matter, it's good therapy.

Until later,

Jill
