Well, it's been 3 months since my last post - not bad I guess. :(
My latest news is that I have completely passed my immigration requirements and have the stamp in my passort to prove it! I can now remain in the U.K indefinitely and in another year (I think) I can get my British passport - cool! The drive down to Croyden (London area) was quite nice but Croyden itself proved difficult to get round. The immigration building had 3 floors to it and was MASSIVE. Interesting to note most of the people behind the counters were foreigners themselves. We were there about 3 hours in all and were home again by 5:30pm.
The weather here is turning beautiful fall colors again - my favorite time of year. I saw a baby calf in the fields on the way to work one day last week. All the "elders" were gathered around to protect it. It was a lovely site but also a sad one knowing that the little one will someday end up on someone's dinner plate. :( I think I was a vegetarian in a previous life.
My mother has not been well lately. This week has found her in the hospital and my brother and his wife and I had concerns that it might not have a good outcome. The good news is that she is rallying and fingers crossed she will be able to return to her apt. in about 3 weeks time. This week has been a very trying one for us all.
On a happier note, Roger and I started remodelling our bedroom now, and ironically we started 2 years to the day that we moved into the house. It also marked my two years of being here. After moving into the guest bedroom for the time being, we knocked out all the cabinets and stripped down the walls. It was just like the rest of the house used to be - full of mould and with a horrible smell. We hope to have it done by Christmas.
Next month we plan to travel to Seattle for Thanksgiving - my first one in two years. Kellan will fly up to meet us and here's hoping Mom will be much better by then.
So apart from turning another year older and celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary, that's my news for now. Hope to keep this more up to date in future - but don't hold your breath.
Cheerio!
