Greek photos!

I still haven't got the knack of posting in succession yet. If you read from bottom to top you will get my drift of things. We really had a great time. Met lots of new friends, ate, drank, swam and drank some more! We toured a couple islands, went on a bbq excursion boat to two different islands where we could swim and had the most fantastic Souvlaki kebobs, took a trip to Athens to see the Acropolys and then toured the old part of Athens - saw the most amazing bar with different colored bottles lit up from floor to ceiling (note what intrigues me - bars...), hired a boat with some of our new friends and toured around the islands ourselves for a couple hours, and took a boat trip down the Corinith Canal. We sat on the very front with our legs dangling over. We also saw ruins that were dated 3000 years B.C. - so amazing!! One of the greatest pleasures we had during our time there was finding the locals that we had taken photos of on our first and only visit there in 1980. They were so pleased that we cared enough to look them up. We were surprised that Tolon (they spell and pronounce it both ways: Tolo and Tolon - don't ask me why) hadn't changed that much since then, apart from a paved road, a few more shops (that actually added to the ambiance) and cars. This is a one street town where everyone knows everyone and are actually related in many instances. We enjoyed eating the local Tzatiki dip and Greek salad, among other favorites and raising our glass to toast "Ya Mas!" After two weeks in lovely heat, we arrived home to England, all tanned, to rain. What a surprise.

More photos to come, stay tuned!

Jill
