It's the day after Thanksgiving and after reading my neice's blog: http://sibtigre2.blogspot.com/ listing what she is thankful for......well, a day late and a pound short, what can I say? As they don't celebrate it over here I may have an excuse.......or not. Suffice to say I am blessed with family and friends (human and animal) and a new country. It would take a lifetime to list it all. I am one lucky gal.

So, yes, Thanksgiving! I had to make do with saying "Happy Thanksgiving" to all who crossed my path yesterday. I even cut out pictures of pilgrims and turkeys and a cornucopia which I taped to the filing cabinets and offered up a chocolate orange ball (the kind that splits into slices) as I am thankful for chocolate! I got strange looks but hey, I am proud of our traditions! I had to explain to everyone what it was all about and sent internet links around the office showing it off. I was going to cook a meal at home but as there is so much going on, I settled for a drink at the Red Lion pub in the village of Drayton next to us on the high road. Next year will be different!

Before I forget, I will post more pics of our vacation at a later date.

Last night we had our memory foam bed delivered! It feels too incredibly fab to describe! The cat likes it so I know it's a good choice. We've also ordered bar stools, carpet, blinds, and a couch and feel as if we are finally coming along. Roger pushes himself to the nth degree which is not good, but he is bound and determined to get things done come hell or high water.

Oh - my big purchase of the month is a pair of new used (3 times) riding boots for £8.00! That's like $14.00. Now all I need is the horse.

Well, I better leave my witty comments here and pretend I have a job. Lunch is over, sad but true. Wishing you all the fun of the shopping season - let the games begin!

Ta rah,

Jill

I love how you spent Thanksgiving and I look forward to hearing about the big feast you make next year. :)

Nice deal on the boots. Let me know when you get that horse! And I'm glad to hear that you've started outfitting the house! :)
